Homebase Hiriketiya Coliving House

Your dreamt up coliving as a reality

Curate now

Homebase started as a coliving in Hiriketiya, Sri Lanka.
And for a while, it was exactly what we needed. But places change. Villages grow.

Where there were once playful monkeys, more and more construction sites popped up...
And somewhere along the way, we realised something important.
Homebase was never about the building or the beach.

It was about the people who shared the space.

The ones who stayed long enough to settle in. To cook together, work together and build real connection. So we stopped trying to hold onto one location. And started focusing on what actually mattered.
So instead of trying to bring people to our coliving, we are now bringing Homebase coliving to the people.

Now, Homebase isn’t tied to a place. We are creating temporary homes, built around you, the community. Wherever we meet next.

Our Values

Community

We want to build and strenghten the community. This goes for both the group of people that stays with us, as well as supporting the local community. We encourage our guests to do the same. If there is any skill you can offer for the community (eg. teaching English to locals or any other skill) we can organise events. We don't want to create another "White Bubble", we want to connect with locals and pay back for their friendlyness.

Respect

Be honest and respect other's boundaries and space. Sleep is important: Keep quiet from 10pm-7am. We treat our staff well and give them the flexibility and opportunities we’d like for ourselves.

Nature before Profit

We'll do our best to stay in touch with nature, trying to ditch single-use plastic and picking the more environmentally friendly option where possible.

Inclusivity

Everyone is included, no matter your background, skin colour, bank account number or employment status - but we don’t accept rude people. As long as you respect other guests, our staff or the locals, everyone is welcome.

Constant Learning and Growth

Learning, evolving and improving: We’ll always ask for feedback and accept it without trying to defend ourselves. For that, we need your feedback to be hone
